Data alone has no value. It only acquires value when used to support the organization in achieving its strategy. To this end, however, simply treating data as a product is not enough. It is also necessary to productize the management of metadata that transforms data into usable information and domain knowledge that allows the collected information to be contextualized and used consistently and effectively. The key is to manage the entire information architecture as a product.
In this presentation, we will see how to use a platform strategy to go beyond the traditional linear data value chain and create a data value network that involves all the organizational ecosystem's actors in information architecture management (data recommoning). Starting with data products and moving through data contracts and computational policies to domain ontologies and the corporate knowledge graph, we will delve into the key components of modern information architecture. We'll then explore the available techniques and operational models to design and implement a modular, composable, and future-proof information architecture in a distributed and collaborative manner. Finally, we'll understand how well-shaped information architecture can be strategically leveraged to equip organizations with the agility needed to navigate the ever-increasing volatility of demand and uncertainty of the global landscape.
