What is Data Mesh Live?

Data Mesh Live is a new conference for the Data Mesh community. It will bring together practitioners managing data at scale.

The conference will feature well-known Data Mesh experts as well as practitioners at large companies applying Data Mesh techniques in complex environments.

The conference aims to be the meeting point for the community to share learnings from the wild and evolve the four core ideas behind Data Mesh; Domain-driven ownership, data as a product, self-serve data platform, and federated computational governance.

Why should you attend Data Mesh Live?

Data Mesh Live is for data practitioners who are serious about building the next generation of data platforms. The conference will introduce novel and impactful techniques to reduce data silos, improve data quality, introduce new data capabilities, and address governance issues.

How will this compare to other data conferences?

Most established data conferences can’t do justice to the countless topics they try to cover. Instead, Data Mesh Live will pull apart and dissect the socio-technical discipline and provide practical advice for data leaders working on business-critical data systems.

This conference won’t feature much 101 content. This is for data engineers and leaders already managing large data systems, well aware of the drawbacks of a centralised data architecture. If you are brand new to Data Mesh, consider combining your visit with one of our pre-conference workshops.

Who is curating the line-up?

Data Mesh Live is curated by Tom De Wolf, Data Mesh expert at ACA Group, Data Mesh Learning community MVP, and organiser of the Data Mesh Belgium Meetup.

Who are the organisers?

Data Mesh Live is organised by Aardling, a software agency focused on strategy, design and architecture. Aardling has also been organising Data Mesh trainings since 2019. They've worked with large enterprise companies such as Microsoft, The Guardian, Morgan Stanley, and Standard Bank.

Aardling’s conferences are curated by the community and executed by a dedicated, professional events team. Their conferences are known for their session quality and the attendee experience.

In 2025, Data Mesh Live will be co-located with DDD Europe and EventCentric.
